Rugged box, great price
This is the second Homax brand box I have bought. They are built nicely - probably as good or better than Craftsman or Snap-On. The finish is beautiful and scratch resistant. Only thing I would improve is the latch. It is strong and well fit but the tolerances could be a little better. I bought a smaller version of this box to hold a side arm grinder and all the attachments. I was looking for some cheap storage since I only use it occasionally. When I recieved it I thought, "Wow, can't believe it is this good for the money I paid". Worked very well so when I needed one for a new reciprocating saw, I specifically went looking for a Homak box. They make several different sizes if you search. This one has a sturdy drop in tray, which I took out to make room for the other stuff, but it's a little to shallow to be practical since your hand just about hits the bottom when there is nothing in it. Buy this box for the box and not this tray. I would imagine, hoewver, that a bigger box would have a great tray. Don't know who or where these are made, or that I never heard of them before. If I need another box I'll definately look for a Homax before driving to Sears or flagging down a Snap-On truck (and paying 3X-5X the price).

Old School
It's a metal box with a lid & latch. Over time, the box will dent, the lid won't line up and you'll have to force it closed, you'll have to fight with the latch, there will be dents, the paint will scratch and peel, and it's heavier than it's plastic cousins. But who the heck wants plastic? For anything?
